Melior Solutions is Moving
For all the right reasons – expansion, better communications and easier to reach location, Melior Solutions is moving to a new location. Situated adjacent to the Lincoln Ring Road (A46) the new office is a single storey detached office unit which allows for a generous demonstration facility and enhanced working environment to support our growing business.

The new address is ‘Unit 6, Checkpoint Court, Sadler Road, Lincoln, LN6 3PW’ and we will be moving in during the last week in August aiming to be fully ‘in-residence’ by August 29th 2011. The phone and fax numbers will remain the same and any existing post sent to the current address will find its way to us just fine.

There are few places in the world where you can see the entire process and packaging chain under one roof, so we are delighted to announce that in a joint venture with Travtec Group, Melior Solutions will be exhibiting its TTM100 software solution, Integrated into the Travtec Pharmacarton Lite coding station, providing a fully ready to run, pack serialisation system.

Visitors to Travtec Group’s stand at Interpack 2011 (Hall 5, Stand F04-17) will not only have the hands-on opportunity to fully experience the TTM100 in action, but they can also talk to us directly about the forthcoming pan-European legislation against pharmaceutical counterfeiting.

Under the European Union Falsified Medicines Directive, all pharmaceutical packaging must incorporate a unique identifier in order to curtail the millions of counterfeit & illegal medicines seized by customs each year. The combination of the Travtec Pharmacarton and our Melior Solutions TTM100 software really can provide an ‘out of the box’ low fuss solution that will not only save manufacturers time and money but will also deliver complete supply chain traceability and full legal European compliance.

EFPIA Pilot

Jan 2010: EFPIA Pilot completes.
After an operational phase over over four months in and around the Stockholm area of Sweden, the EFPIA pilot has completed successfully. Melior Solutions was deeply involved with this pilot and worked closely with many learned industry representatives to ensure a thorough specification, vendor selection and project implemtation. Managing and registering the application of unique codes to packs and items.

Primarily fronted by the Melior Solutions TTM100 range of products, this exciting new area is set to witness major expansion within the coming five years. TTM100 has already proven itself during the BRIDGE project, the 2006 Irish Haemophillia Trial and more recently during the EFPIA pilot in Sweden.

Serialisation allows product to be verified and potentially tracked. The difference between the simpler (but still complex) verification scenario and tracking/tracing is primarily focussed on the need to aggregation (pool) smaller packed items into larger packed items (i.e. packs into cases, cases into pallet) and to record a hierarchy for each packed unit. Whether the requirement is for unit item serialisation or aggregation, a TTM100 solution is available.

Serialisation solutions should do more than simply code and verify, they should:

Integrate where possible with higher order systems.
They should allow image designs to be linked with products
They should ensure that jobs started have the correct batch and expiry information associated with them prior to start
They should provide the ability to produce reports, check on system status, monitor and record user activity

Above all else, they should be simple to use and reliable in operation

Microsoft Gold

Melior Solutions has been awarded the highest partnership level with Microsoft – Gold Certified Partner. To achieve this award, Melior Solutions had to test at least one ‘off the shelf’ product in accordance with a Microsoft test platform and was required to undertake a Microsoft sponsored customer satisfaction survey. The results from the survey were outstanding in terms of customer satisfaction and also provided some very valuable feedback to assist us with our growth plans. Our thanks are extended to all those who took part.

With the tested products we have currently two products through a variety of official tests including ‘Compatible with Windows 7’ and ‘Works with Windows Server 2008 R2’ and ‘Works with SQL Server 2008 R2’ for the ‘SAP.Monitor’ solution. Shortly TTM100 will also be submitted for external testing to further enhance our product line.

TTM100 is a complete software solution for the management and distribution of pack level unique codes.
Many industries today face the often daunting challenge of fitting and retro-fitting production lines with systems able to apply unique serialised codes to item packaging. Pharmaceutical and healthcare organisations face increased pressure in terms of patient safety demands, regulatory requirements and potential product liability mitigation. All of these factors are known to be improved through the application of serialised codes to unit of sale packs. Together with existing overt and covert security techniques, pack serialisation can provide the necessary information to support track and trace systems, end to end verification systems and ePedigree.

Designed to be line specific and fully autonomous, TTM100 is an ideal system for integrating existing capital equipment such as code printers and code reader/verifiers and providing a seamless and consistent serial number management solution

Successfully used during the EFPIA product verification pilot in Sweden, TTM100 is a complete software solution for the management and distribution of pack level unique codes (serial numbers). Able to accept serial numbers from external sources or internally generated, TTM100 manages the whole process of number generation/receipt, on-line printer communication, on-line code verification and reject handling. TTM100 is able to interface with major ERP systems using a built-in facility to

automatically provide formatted reports upon receipt of instructions from the ERP or host system with no requirement for manual intervention. TTM100 is able to communicate with the leading packing coding devices for printed code application and a wide range of inline vision and code reading devices. Basic installations can be conducted in a matter of hours once the various hardware items have been installed and configured.

One of the issues when considering the implementation of a Pack Serialisation System is the ease with which it can be integrated into new and existing lines, how it will co-exist with an existing IT infrastructure and how easily it can either generate the serial codes for you or be used in conjunction with a wider enterprise level serial number generation system.

Our Mobile Solutions allow in-field item level track and trace and remote inventory inspection to become a reality.
Designed initially for the Series 60 Nokia™ platform, our mobile solutions allow item and case codes, in either linear or complex 2D Data Matrix form, to be read using the camera built in to the mobile phone.

The TTM300 server side messaging application is a powerful means of releasing organisational product data to field operators without the complexities of Wireless Networking and laptops.

May 2010 saw Melior Solutions become a partner and distributor for the NiceLabel suite of products. Melior Solutions has been using NiceLabel products for some years and the increasing requirement by customers for our custom applications to be able to communicate with a wide variety of desktop and inline label printers created the opportunity for this closer relationship with the NiceLabel team. Being part of the NiceLabel partner program gives us access to detailed technical product information and training, allowing us to serve our customers more effectively.
